Were You Certified Before 1999?
If so, your deadline for submitting an application for CPIM certification
maintenance is coming up.
The new certification maintenance for CPIM/CFPIM kicked into gear January 1, 2003. Get your records together and submit the application no later than the month in which you were certified years ago. Helpful information is at www.apics.org/Certification/Maintenance/maintenance.asp in the certification section of the site.
APICSacramento can help with a customized Excel spreadsheet (version 2000) you can use
to keep track of the points you've already earned, and plan for points to help you
reach your maintenance goal.

And, if you've earned your certification within the past 5 years, your maintenance application is due in the month 5 years after your certification date. Start accumulating points now!
Keep track of your certification status. You snooze, you lose.
Just a reminder to those of you who are Certified; certification maintenance points may be earned by attending the Professional Development Meetings. Your attendance is recorded at each month's meeting with your signing in at the beginning of the meeting. One point is earned for each meeting attended.
"I am working for a small pharmaceutical start-up company in its infancy. There is inadequate knowledge or experience of materials management within the company and I feel it's vitally important to establish sound practices as soon as possible, particularly to ensure compliance with FDA.
The introductory class seems to be oriented towards traditional manufacturing processes rather than situations I am dealing with immediately. But the concepts presented are valuable and I intend to apply the inventory control and forecasting methods."
Brenda - Aphton Corporation
"I work in the inventory management group on-site and have, for the last 6 years. I know that the important parts of our jobs have changed and I wanted to learn the latest processes in the industry. Our group has had great feedback from past APICS class series."
Anthony - Apple Computer, Inc.
